2001 C-FAR leadership in place
URBANA-- The 2001 Illinois Council on Food and Agricultural Research
(C-FAR) Board of Directors elected officers at their first meeting of
the year on March 13th in Urbana. The new Board of Directors includes:
Jack Erisman - Chairman (Pana), David Downs - Vice Chair & Research Chair
(Allerton), Fred Bradshaw - Secretary/Treasurer (Griggsville), Carol Keiser
- Membership Chair (Champaign), Constance Locher Bussard - Legislative
Chair (Springfield), Alan Puzey - Research Vice Chair (Fairmount), and
Terry Wolf - Past Chair (Homer). Board members Bradshaw, Bussard and Downs
were re-elected at the C-FAR annual meeting in February to serve two-year
terms. Puzey was newly elected to the Board and will serve a one-year
term. Board members Erisman and Keiser are completing the second year
of their two-year terms. Wolf serves in an ex officio capacity
as past chair.
Leadership of the five C-FAR working groups was elected during the C-FAR
annual meeting. Working groups play a key role in determining research
directions for C-FAR. Elected working group chairs and vice chairs include:
Expanding Agricultural Markets:
Nels Kasey (Paris) - Chair
Roger Hubele (Enfield) - Vice Chair
Rural Economic Development:
A.J. Harland (Lafayette) - Chair
Kevin Brussell (Casey) - Vice Chair
Agricultural Production Systems:
Brent Bidner (Monticello) - Chair
Don Doehring (Windsor) - Vice Chair
Human Nutrition and Food Safety:
Carol Meyer (Steeleville) - Chair
Karen Little (Pleasant Plains) - Vice Chair
Natural Resources:
Susan Adams (Atlanta) - Chair
Rollie Moore (Oneida) - Vice Chair

interests and backgrounds, and at the same time, devote a tremendous level
of energy to the C-FAR organization. We are extremely fortunate to have
